ACDA leadership and multiple board members participated in four meetings following the board’s approval this week of ACDA’s 2023 Legislative Issue Paper (attached). The issue paper focuses on ACDA’s priorities for child nutrition programs and household programs. The Congress is expected to take up a Farm Bill this year which includes reauthorization of the household programs, and may also undertake child nutrition reauthorization.
These meetings were with key majority and minority staff for the House and Senate Agriculture Appropriation Subcommittees, and the House and Senate Agriculture Committees. The meetings were productive and ACDA has been asked to continue to provide information on these programs as the legislative process continues.
