“We were pleased, once again, to be able to bring a good number of staff members to this year’s ACDA National Conference. We appreciate the opportunities to present program information and, possibly more important, to spend time networking with all of our program partners. As I stated during the conference, the ACDA ANC is my favorite conference of the year. I think every USDA staff member would say the same. We truly enjoy the ability to talk to all of our program partners in this setting and the genuine spirit of collaboration and partnership one finds with this group. Thank you for that. And, I do hope that you will someday forgive us for the April Fool’s personnel announcement! Speaking of personnel changes, I have a real change to announce. Kate Houston, our Deputy Administrator for Special Nutrition Programs, has been selected as the Deputy Under Secretary for Food, Nutrition, and Consumer Services! By the time you read this, Kate will be serving in her new position. We will miss her, but it’s certainly an opportunity she could not refuse! We were fortunate to have Kate as our Deputy Administrator and wish her well in her new position.”
